The Goal
To design and direct a dynamic, highly engaging animated explainer animation that explains the purpose of the Corporate Peer Challenge and encourages council staff to engage with the action plan and supporting resources.
The Strategy & Challenge
The animation was designed for a wide internal audience across all council services. The core challenge was to help staff understand upcoming organisational change and its impact on the Council’s culture and operations, translating dense, abstract evaluation findings into an inviting and accessible visual narrative.

Brand & Execution
Collaborative Ideation: Structured the creative process around active stakeholder engagement. Organised collaborative reviews with diverse individuals from across the organisation to walk them through the initial moodboards and visual storyboards, ensuring the complex information was accurately and clearly represented.
Creative & Illustration Style: Selected a modern 2D illustration style combining clean, simple graphical elements with diverse human figures to keep the visuals inclusive and widely relatable. The clean, understated visual language was deliberately designed to support the script rather than compete with it.
Motion & Sound Direction: Used subtle, intentional movement, such as light bounce animations selectively applied, to keep the piece engaging while keeping the information as the core focus. This was paired with a voiceover read by an actual council staff member and a gentle instrumental soundtrack to establish a calm, authentic, and cohesive flow.
